Will Khammam fall in TRS basket?

Against the expectations of everyone TRS party is showing the signs of its grip on the one of the most important constituency in the state. The Khammam constituency. In the assembly elections opposition parties had won in the six constituencies except the Khammam assembly segment which are now with TRS in a span of just two months. Even before the Lok Sabha elections were announced the winning candidates started joining TRS from other parties. Also in the recent Sarpanch elections TRS won with majority grabbing a hold on most of the villages in the state. All this led to the strengthening of TRS party in the Khammam parliament segment.

Being the costliest segment in the state Khammam constituency was always under focus during elections time. In general the voters are also tilted towards Congress party. But this time the responsibility of election campaigning in this constituency has been shouldered by the president of the TRS party, State Chief Minister,KCR himself, which led in the change of the stand of Khammam constituency in favor of TRS. After the announcement by KCR to take up the campaigning from Medak, Zahirabad and Khammam the opposition party senior leaders who had seen success in the past are facing dilemma to contest from these places. These places have been hot spots for both Congress and Communist parties, where congress won 11 times, PDF two times, CPM, TDP,YSR Congress party won once each out of a total of 16 elections in the past.
In the 2014 when TRS party won with a majority all over the state and came to power only Khammam constituency had shown mixed results. Except Kothagudem all other places saw the opposition candidates as winners. But after that TRS slowly saw itself gaining popularity even in this district.
TDP senior leader Thummala Nageswar Rao along with his followers joined TRS, which worked in party favor. The shift of Congress MLAs and MLCs to TRS helped the party to take strong stand against Congress party but again in 2018 assembly elections though TRS won from most of the places in the state Khammam again went into the hands of opposition.
Even in this elections TRS could win only in one place in Khammam district. When all the Telangana people are tilted towards TRS party only the people of this district leaves the party in a state of confusion. Many a times KCR had acknowledged that his own party people had back stabbed leading to the lose. With mixed outcome in the district during assembly elections, TRS party leaders worked hard to grab majority of the villages (616 out 1058 panchayats) against the only one win in 2013 Sarpanch elections.
With all these developments and much more on the way what would be the outcome for the TRS party in the coming Lok Sabha elections and how far the strategies of KCR will fetch positive results for the party is a matter of time.
