No BJP here! No BJP candidate except a one or two in all the four states. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh And Punjab. The four states managed to stop the Modi wave impact.
With YSRCP winning with whopping majority over the TDP it can also be seen that the party which won at the center, the BJP has not much say in the state. With literally no seat for itself it seems BJP hve been wiped out of the state.
Same is the case in Tamil Nadu. The DMK’s well-oiled campaign machinery, led by party president M.K. Stalin, on Thursday succeeded in stopping the Modi juggernaut from rolling into Tamil Nadu.
Kerala held on to its record of never having sent a BJP MP to the Lok Sabha. For the BJP, there is not much solace even in vote-share improvement it was a cocktail of anti-BJP and anti-CPM politics that stopped the Modi wave from entering Kerala.
Up north, it was only Punjab that held its own, even against the nationalism narrative of the BJP. The party retaining only two seats out of 13 while the Akalis are down to the two Badal family seats with Chief minister Amarinder Singh once again delivering.
Technically neither the nationalism card nor the family legacy had anything to do in these places with regional parties triumphing in their respective states.
