TV9 Ravi Prakash was booked under forgery case by the Cyberabad police today.
The Telangana Police have reportedly booked the CEO of TV9 news channel Ravi Prakash in connection with an alleged forgery case.
Based on a complaint lodged by Alanda Media Entertainments secretary Kaushik Rao, the Cyberabad police have begun efforts to nab Prakash. The police are conducting searches at the TV9 office in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.
Alanda Media Entertainments made this complaint with Cyber Crime Police alleging that Ravi Prakash has forged the signature of one of the directors in TV9 Board. It further alleged that Ravi Prakash had indulged in forgery of Alanda Media’s director Koushik Rao, in a bid to stall the appointment of new directors on the board by My Home group and MEIL. Thus, it is alleged Ravi Prakash tried to prevent Alanda from taking control of TV9 channel from him.
Alanda Media Entertainment Private Limited, a joint venture of My Home Group headed by Jupalli Rameshwar Rao and Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Private Limited (MEIL) Krishna Reddy, which bought over majority of the stakes in the Associated Broadcasting Company Limited that owned TV9.
Police have conducted raids on Ravi Prakash’s Residence and Office. Apparently, Ravi Prakash and his team have allegedly stolen some hard discs and other documents pertaining to share transactions.
However, TV9 news channel management and also it’s CEO Ravi Prakash have not given any clarity or made any comment on the reports of registering of case against him till now.
Rumors in the media circles are that Ravi Prakash was shunted out of the channel with this case planted on him.
The company law board is also examining the case.
Reportedly Ravi Prakash’s passport has been seized and at the moment police is in search of him and is alleged to be absconding.
